The Lightning Football Club began in 2024. This is a 7vs7 league for 8th graders (age 13-14) in Crystal Lake, IL.   

7v7 football is accessible to a broader range of players.  With its non contact nature and emphasis on passing it allows individuals not interested in full contact play to participate in a football-like experience.

The game is centered around passing plays, making it an ideal format for quarterbacks, receivers and defensive backs to refine their skills in passing and catching.  As passing becomes an increasingly integral part of football strategy, 7v7 teams offer a focused environment for players to excel in this game aspect. 

The Lightning places a strong emphasis on individual and team skills such as route running, precision passing and defensive coverage.  This focus on skill development attracts athletes looking to refine specific aspects of their game.

Our organization prides itself in recognizing that athletics promotes physical well-being and provides a healthy environment conducive to the development of strong, active, and productive leaders in our community. 

While emphasizing sportsmanship and safety, we will strongly encourage our Coaches, Players, and Parents to act as positive role models within our organization and toward our competitors.
